How To Create A Functional Spare Room

Is it time for a fresh start?

What a perfect opportunity to clear the clutter in that spare room which has become a dumping zone. Wouldn’t you agree?

Not sure where to put it. Dump it in the spare room.

Don’t have a proper storage system? Dump it in the spare room.

This will keep happening until you have a purpose and function for your spare room.

Would you like it to be a “play zone” for your kids?

Would you like space for your craft projects?

A reading area?

Or all three?

Decide on the functionality of the room and then create the systems.

Check out this video on How To Create A Functional Spare Room by Getting It Together.

Then get ready to purge all non-essential items.

Donate. Toss. Sell.

Then set up your systems for keeping yourself organized with the items you need, want and use.

Final step. Enjoy your new spare room.

To your success and safety, Rowena

How To Organize A Classroom & Home Office

There are people who homeschool their children by choice and then there are many of you who have been forced to homeschool your children over the past couple of years with all the school closures.

Either way, it is a big commitment to support and educate our children of the future.

Quite often when I’m out in nature I see young children. I suspect they are being homeschooled and getting their physical activity at the same time. Here we are at Alexander Falls just before Whistler BC. Aren’t they stunning?

How To Organize A Ski Bag

How many of you love to ski?

It’s a great sport since you can do it well into your 80’s. Yes, I’ve met many a super seniors out on the slopes. So inspiring that’s for sure.

I like to have my bag ready to go at all times.

Check out this short video on How To Organize A Ski Bag. Then read on for more Getting It Together tips.

One thing I didn’t mention in the video was snacks.

I always have a protein bar in my pocket. This is important in the event you run into trouble and need a little energy boost.

I also keep a tea bag in my pocket. That way, I can stop and get hot water for free. Not only are you getting organized but I am helping you save money.

What could be better?

My ski pass is always in my ski jacket pocket. You’d hate to stand in line only to find out your pass is in your wallet or different jacket.

Hope to see you out on the slopes.

PS: No matter what time of the season, be sure to wear sunscreen. Your face will love you for it.

PPS: It has been a long time since we talked or saw each other. Please set up a FREE discovery session to help you get your New Year on track.

Found Money

What would you do with an extra $85,000.00?

What would you do with an extra $10,000.00?

Every time I declutter or downsize a client’s home, I find money.

It has been as little as two pennies and as much as thousands.

Check out this video on Found Money by: Getting It Together

No two jobs are the same. That is one of the things I love about my profession. Some jobs require me to sell items for my clients. Check out these hot items that went in a flash. It is so interesting to see what sells fast and what doesn’t. Found money for the clients.

Confessions Of A Professional Organizer – Part 6

When I was a young girl, I grew up across the street from Central Park in Burnaby British Columbia Canada. I think I was always destined to be an entrepreneur. At a young age I went to my neighbours’ and asked if I could start babysitting. I was only 11. They agreed that I could take care of their young son only if my mum was home for any emergencies that might arise.

I was in business. Yeah!!

Fortunately, there was never an emergency.

On one occasion the young couple gave me this green sewing kit. I have coveted it for decades but it was time to downsize as I am no longer a sewer.

If I need anything sewn, repaired or constructed I contact my talented friend Denise who owns www.hellobeautiful.ca. Be sure to check out her site and see her talents.

In the meantime, check out this short video on Confessions Of A Professional Organizer part 6
